Zeta Group is a leading FMCG manufacturer specializing in baby wipes, antibacterial wipes, and diapers. Headquartered in New Zealand,
the company operates across Australia, Fiji, and India, with a global distribution network covering Australia, New Zealand, the USA, UAE and the Middle East. Zeta Group is committed to providing high-quality hygiene products under brands such as TERRA, Kiddicare, and Ministars.
Managing operations across multiple regions requires an efficient, automated system to handle accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and supply chain management. As Finance Manager Ram Naidu explains, "We supply diapers all over the world, including the UAE, USA, Middle East, and Australia. Managing payments and shipments manually was becoming inefficient."
Background: EDIStech
EDIStech is a premier provider of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions, helping businesses automate data exchange between trading partners. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in New Zealand with operations in Australia, EDIStech delivers customized EDI solutions to streamline order processing, invoicing, and logistics.
As an accredited MYOB Developer Partner for 10 years, EDIStech has extensive integration experience across all MYOB products, they have helped numerous MYOB customers streamline their processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient EDI onboarding experience. Their long-term partnership with MYOB highlights their expertise in supporting businesses with customers’ EDI needs.
The Challenge: Manual Order Processing Slowing Down Business
Before integrating with EDIStech, Zeta Group managed orders manually using MYOB Acumatica. The process involved receiving orders, entering data manually, and handling payments with little automation.
"We used to punch in orders manually through MYOB Acumatica. It wasn’t so much about errors, but it was time-consuming, requiring us to look at information and process it manually," says Ram Naidu.
The Solution: EDIStech’s EDI Integration with Foodstuffs
To streamline operations, Zeta Group partnered with EDIStech, who has extensive experience connecting with major retailers across ANZ, initially integrating with Foodstuffs, one of New Zealand’s largest supermarket chains.
"The success from the initial project led to more projects and opportunities for integration," Ram notes.
By using EDIStech’s EDI platform, orders are now automatically pushed into ZetaGroup’s Myob Accumatica setup, reducing manual data entry. With an averageof 100 to 150 orders per day needing to be processed, the EDIStech integrationenables seamless synchronization between MYOB Acumatica and suppliers’databases.
Results: Increased Efficiency and Productivity
The implementation of EDIStech’s EDI technology has delivered measurable benefits for Zeta Group:
-
Faster Order Processing: Orders are received and processed in real-time.
-
Increased Productivity: Increases in productivity mean we can now achieve more in less time.
-
Seamless Inventory Management: The warehouse team can efficiently pick, pack, and dispatch orders.
-
Global Integration: Managing business across geographies, currencies, and taxation has become much smoother.
-
Scalability: We currently have 2-3 projects going at once with EDIStech, and more integrations are likely in the future.
Continued Support from EDIStech
While the transition to EDI has improved efficiency, occasional network or server issues can delay order processing. However, Zeta Group has found EDIStech’s support team to be highly responsive.
"Sometimes network or server issues can result in delays, but the EDIStech team is always able to support and rectify these issues." Ram says.
The system also incorporates geographic intelligence, allowing Zeta Group to prioritize deliveries based on store locations and demand patterns.
Future Expansion and Continued Partnership
With the proven success of EDI integration, Zeta Group is expanding automation across its entire supply chain. Future projects will focus on optimizing supplier relationships and improving operational efficiencies.
Ram concludes, "EDIStech has been very supportive and helpful all along the way. The transition has made a significant impact, and we look forward to working with them on future projects."
By leveraging EDIStech’s EDI solutions and seamless integration with MYOB, Zeta Group has transformed its global supply chain operations, eliminating manual inefficiencies, reducing processing times, and enhancing scalability. This partnership underscores the power of automation in modern FMCG logistics and highlights how technology-driven solutions can drive growth and efficiency.
